Helicopter spraying soybeans Tuesday night right off of I29 south of Sioux Falls. On the drive up we saw no fewer than 8 aircraft spraying from Kansas to SD. I'd never seen a chopper doing it live before. Usually just dusters.

In the late 70s and early 80s we had a major outbreak of spruce budworm, a native insect which devastates spruce and fir trees.
The Maine Forest Service had a massive spray program trying to knock the out break down long enough so that landowners could salvage their wood.
Watching a dozen or so spray planes fly in convoy just over treetop level, headed back to base was fun to watch.
