How am I doin\' - L3830???

I playing tractor "expert" for Mom and Dad. After 40yrs in the "city" they're movin' to the country. My brother and I will be helping with: 23 acres total, flat, 18 acres +/- to cut(pasture grasses not lawn), 900' +/- gravel drive, 3 ponds w/750' +/- spillways connecting all three, spillways need work, needs lots of new landscaping, clearing snow, and other still to be determined chores, etc. etc.

How's this for spending THEIR /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif money:

This is without any negotiations. From what I've gleened from TBN, I think he gave me a decent starting point. This is the same dealer where I bought my BX22. I've also received a quote from another dealer that is very close in price just Landpride equipment in lieu of Rhino.

Even without all the additives, your parents would find your decision to go with the L3830 HST the work of a well educated son. Since my tractor is also a L3830 HST I can tell you that it is still giving me the "wow, this things incredible" feeling. I really like it and have probably convinced more neighbors of just how great it is simply by letting them try it out here at my place. I use a 1000 lb box scraper, a 84" finish mower, and a 96" Harley landscape rake. The tractor handles all very well. The loader, while definitely not as powerful as my previous L48, still does a very decent job and the ease with which it removes and reattaches is superb. The toothbar is a great addtition if for nothing more then just helping with various tasks like picking up branches to ripping out stubborn debris. I don't know much about Brush Hog mowers but many have commented they are well built. You seem to have a good grasp on all you need with the correct sizing and the price looks very reasonable. Rat....

I support what RaT says. You have it well specified and priced. There may be a little more room in there, but each market is different. Either way, your parents should be proud of the choices and prices that you are working on. Don't forget to think about adding work lights. However, one learning I had is not to have them mounted on top of the ROPS. They get bashed around when I drive under trees, etc. Would recommend having them hang down from the ROPS out of the way.
