I guess I have a "phobia" , I don't let anything set out , trucks , tractors , equipment . I enjoy keeping my stuff clean and maintained . When I go to trade it usually pays off :thumbsup:
How bad is it to store tractor outside?

If at all possible, get it inside. It will take time for it to pay off, but it will. It won't kill it to set out now and then, but if you leave it out for 20 years, you will look at your investment and wish you hadn't. If it must sit out, at least try to park it on pavement.
I have 2 tractors- a 1988 and a 1975. Both still run. I look at both and wish my father had kept them inside, and I keep them inside now. I also have a 1997 Pickup with only 70K on it. I REALLY wish that had been kept in a nice dry building. It actually suffered from the weather more then the tractors. Stupid salt.

Seems to be getting more common to see $250'000 machines stored outdoors all year round with the tendancy to lease these days and as soon as warranty is up they are changed not giving time for elements to take toll.
I try to store everything in winter but shed space is limited , paint damage is very brand related i find . Maybe one point i will give to deere is paint quality .

Tractor shed for me is down the to do list a bit, so I keep a old blanket on top of mine UNDER the tarp to absorb any moisture. Just need to get seat time often enough to make sure no critters start chewing the blanket:thumbsup:
