I bought my tractor before I knew of this site, but it has helped greatly with decisions about attachments and some upgrades I have done to the tractor afterwards. I now find it fulfilling to offer my own, hopefully good advice from experience, to new tractor owners as well.

I spent 6 years lurking on this site debating Mahindra, Kioti, and Bobcat before we finally bought the Kioti DK40se HST. People I learned to respect based on their insightful posts, demonstrated ability and similar tractor needs became the folks I followed and asked advice from.

When I started looking at tractors, I was set on a 2-wheel drive with FEL, and soon learned the limitations of such a tractor. I used a neighbors 2wd w/FEL and quickly got it stuck with too much weight up front. Between learning the hard way and this site I learned enough to buy a tractor that should meet all of my needs..(if I could only afford a back-hoe attachment...)

I've also eyeballed this forum for advice on attachments. Again, very helpful!

Thanks,
Mike

A great deal of my input. This has been my major source of information, this and the manufactures websites. Lastly, nothing like putting a fanny in a seat and taking it for a spin. TBN is invaluable for perspective, since every flag is flown here.

I had no idea of TBN until after I bought my SCUT, but i don't think I'd of bought any other color. But I would have asked more informative questions and negotiated a little harder.

Having said the above, I love the community here and make it a daily visit.

Helped me quite a bit wrt selecting/buying a HD box blade, and grapple. The majority of TBN folks are quite helpful.

very informative with attachments in helping with the correct size my tractor could handle. it's nice to describe how you'd use an attachment and describe what type of land you have seeking feedback for best option.

Almost zero for the tractor. Additions in the past year have had strong influence from TBN. I wouldn't even know of a Top 'N Tilt except for here. I would have continued to struggle with a back blade rather than grading scraper. My rotary cutter was also influenced by recommendations here as was my tiller. Unfortunately I did get influenced on buying a couple used plows here - I would have purchased something that was serviceable instead. My RTV900 was probably influenced a bit by here but mainly it was influenced by my Polaris lying in pieces around the yard with probably 15 minutes repair time to ever hour riding it.

for what its worth, I'd say we find almost a 50/50 split between people who are educated by the internet and websites like TBN, and those who end up with the wrong impression and misinformation. The web is a great place to read and learn, just don't get your mind so made up that you won't listen to the guys who do this for a living.

I guess you have to also consider what dealer sells too. CUT's aren't really that popular here and I found alot of sales guys at "farm dealerships" didn't really know anything about them and saw them mostly as toys.
If I was near the dealers on this site though, it would be great to talk to them
about tractors and implements, they are a real asset for new guys.
