How big a role did TBN play in your last tractor, attachment, or equipment purchase?

I'm sure it will be a huge role, but budget will be the deciding factor. TBN will guide me towards as much tractor as I can afford for my non specifc purposes.

This site helped me decide between a bx24 to a b7800! Got lots of useful help from here! :)

I already had my BX24 and just busted the HST fan blades. I was doing an internet search about it and found some of the posts here (to be of help). I joined and have paid attention to all sorts of posts to improve my skills and maintenance abilities. I read the threads about carry-alls, bought one and decked it very similar to what others have posted. Like others mentioned, this site has influenced non-tractor purchases (chain saw) and non-purchases, too.

Oh, and I do thank everyone for their help, wisdom and wit in contributing to this site (not necessarily in order of appreciation!). One of the most favorite posts I read was someone who had entered a response to the effect "I came for the knowledge but stayed for the entertainment" because I find myself doing that over and over again.

I was researching small compact tractors for myself and ran across TBN. I lurked for a while, then joined to ask questions. I have to say the opinions and advice I recieved was quite helpful in totally confusing me, shaking me to the core, and making me a quivering pile of jello regarding how I originally looked at tractors. After much therapy, thought and conversation, I was able to determine that the machine that would do the most chores that I needed to get done that fit within my budget was our Power Trac PT425. That was back in 2001. I couldn't have been happier with my decision and the help of the TBN membership.... a great bunch of folks!

I found TBN searching for information on an old Kubota that I'd purchased. After trying it out on the hillsides I needed to work on, TBN and specifically your (MossRoad) info on the Power Trac led me to sell the Kubota and replace it with a used PT 425 that I actually found and bought from another TBN member...

It has been one of the best of, if not the very best, tool purchases I've ever made. I've never regretted the purchase...

I began surfing the site almost 6 months before I bought my first tractor, a Kubota B3200 in November 2011. I found I have been able to learn a great deal on this site. Not only did it help me decide on the make and model, but because of what else I learned, a box blade, a bush hog, FEL an BH all became part of the package deal on my first tractor!!!!! So far all the learning, advice and instructions I have recieved from this site has been accurate and dramatically improved my learning curve towards not only the operation of my tractor and attachments, but also with the management of my tiny little 8 acres of forest in upstate NY!

What we need to do is to set up a loan/ barrow/ lend/co-op to use to get the most out of our ( and our neighbors ) attachments!!!!! This should be locally referenced of course!!!!

I think an equally important benefit is information that leads one to decide what NOT to buy.

When I bought my first tractor (2007) I was going to get one without the loader. The members here all spoke in opposition to that idea and I gave in. I'm glad I did.

I found TBN, bought the book they make on how to buy a used tractor, joined up and thought I was headed toward a standard CUT. But this site, and the great people here, led me to the Power-Trac machines, and throught this site I was able to meet a guy who was selling one of his two machines. As KentT says, PT is an amazing machine. I have no regrets what so ever. It has been a very educational website, helping me not only buy new implements, but learn maintenance and skills that I never developed in my previous farm life. and in the end start to build my own implements.

Oh, and because of this site I bought the PT sight unseen, never tested one or seen one in real life. Not the smartest move but it was very successful none the less.
