What part didnt you know?
I have no doubt those tires have better traction, but I wasn't impressed with his video. I could easily do everything he did in the video with my turf tires. I also got pretty good about not tearing up turf when turning.
Not so much what the video shows, but what he says. My experience pretty much is the same as his. I tore up alot more turf with the standard tires. Going around trees, the nice ~6' diameter circle or whatever. THe standard tires had no grip. So you would make what appeared to be a nice 6' circle, however, either the inner or outer wheel could be slipping the whole way and you have no clue. The AT101's dont slip. They actually force you to hold the levers correctly.
Any tire will tear up the turf when doing a zero turn. The key is a K turn, or a three point turn.
Its hard to compare one guys experience to another, especially in a video where its really hard to get a good picture of just how steep slopes are. No two properties are the same. But having used both turfs and AT101's on the SAME property, the difference is huge. Dad still has turfs, and comparable mower. His is a bobcat ZT223 61" mine is a scag 61". Same tire sizes and all. There is a swale/ditch that separates out properties. In the spring it can lay a little wet in the bottom long after everything else has dried out. I can mow it when he wouldnt dare to. That tire running right in the bottom, will start spinning then hes done.
I guess, in summary, if you have no issues with turfs, dont ever mow a shaded hill and slide, or get stuck at the edge of a wet spot.....then turfs are for you. But if you have been stuck or slid down a hill even once, consider AT101's for your next tire. All the crap about tearing up the yard is BS. They are every bit as easy on the lawn and possible even less damage will be caused under normal conditions due to the rounded edges the guy mentioned in the video. But they have so much more to offer if conditions are even the slightest bit dicey.
