Very true. Same for tractors. The farmers that make their living off of their "tools" don't get wrapped around details as much. When you are in business a tractor and a truck are simply tools. Some might work better than others, but reliability and serviceability are more important than cup holder placement.

My best friend is a farmer and very detail oriented about his tools. The technology in today's farm tractors is amazing. You don't think farms care about HP, size of tillage and harvesting equipment? They won't survive if they don't. He now has a planter that varies the seed spacing on the fly based on soil quality and yields from previous years which is gps based.

Better equipment equals better yields.

Cup holder placement no, but tow ratings? Anyone who will be towing (especially if towing commercially or if there is a chance of getting into an accident) should know their trucks actual unladen weight and tow ratings.
