How did you become a land owner?

Purchased 10 acres to build a house on shortly after getting engaged. We convinced my parents (mostly my mom, dad was all for it) to buy another 33 adjoining to retire on some day. They live about 3 hours away, so I've been happily using their land for 3 years now to hunt rabbits and generally play on.

I was in the Navy and my Mom said I was making alot of money and needed to invest it in land or investments. Said buy me some land because I'm not staying in this outfit. Next thing you know I fly home and sign on 23 acres of land sight unseen untill after. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Loved it. Brought my future bride home and we walked around. She loved it!!!
Did 20 in the Navy. Retired and raised the boys for 8 years while the wife worked. Now I'm working and we love it here. You can't beat land. The boy's plan to live here forever. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They have big plans for continuing on here growing pumpkins and making maple syrup. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
