As someone else has mentioned, I have also been involved with computer all my adult life and was also an early AOL user. I used to play a lot of flight sim games, and I needed a handle. The reasoning behind my handle is that I figured that I'm a pilot of a microcomputer (as they were calledi n the early days).

There was a particular game, whose name escapes me, I played a lot on AOL using this handle. This was probably 10 years ago, and made some online friends there. Particularly with a fellow named Dagonfly. We were an unstoppable team. Last year I was playing a game and got a message asking if I used to play a game on AOL using this nick. It was Dragonfly!!! What a small world it actually is.

This is the first I've seen this thread myself. It's as interesting as the Bio thread that went around awhile, that one should probably be ressurected too.

JohnDay is actually my first and middle name combined. People that I know well including my wife most times call me that. So why not here?

When I first signed up to TBN is used to use the name Syxx_Killer. I used that when I used to play flight sims online. I was great at killin someone from their six. On some forums I still use it. I still use it for my webmail addresses. Then, when I made a "comeback" of sorts to TBN after being idle for a very long time I wanted something different. I came up with JayC because a lot of people call me Jay instead of my real name, Jeremy. The C is the first letter of my last name.
