How do I disable the seat switch on JD L105?

Now, how can I defeat that stupid bell that rings every time I open the drivers door of our new 5yr old Jeep. I often sit and listen to the radio while waiting but have to keep the drivers door closed. On a hot day this means that I need to run the AC to keep cool........Can't even FIND the door switch

It depends whether you want to permanently disable or just when you want to listen to radio. One way to permanently shut it off would be to use super glue or liquid steel on the actuator. Use some plastic wrap to keep the door from getting glued shut. Of course, this disables the light switch as well. A better solution would be to track down the bell and pull it, checking to ensure the system still works, lights, etc. Also could find the power wire from the door and install a switch. This will allow you to choose if the alarm works or not.

what we have done on out 455, is pull the connector from the plug,then took a 16ga wire about 3inches long, stripped the ends and added teo spade connector ends that are the same size as the spades on the underside of the seat switch. that way , if need be, we can pull the wires and hook it back up. no ttape, no fuss. took about 5-10 minutes. and your right scientist, thats not a bad idea. my aunt kept leaning out of the seat when mowing to mow around some bushes and thats why we pulled the switch. it really shouldnt be pulled, but just make sure your PTO deck is OFF and tractor in PARK , or shut off if you need to get off for anything.
