How do y'all feel about Frigidaire vs. GE vs. Whirlpool

We just bought all new appliances, and went with GE Profile for gas range, microwave/vent hood, refrigerator and electric dryer. Speed Queen washer and Bosch dishwasher.
Those choices were all based on previous experience, research, and conversations with appliance repairmen.
The 4 GE Profile appliances qualified for a substantial rebate.
I see several favorable replies to your post, regarding GE refrigerators. That's encouraging!

Friday I bought a new GE refrigerator to replace the 1980's Kenmore unit that has started making alarming noises. The motor roars instead of purrs and it started running near continuous.

You're sure the coils are clean and nothing is interfering with the fan? Dirty coils = no cooling, impeded fan makes noise (and less cooling).

Good comments, but I think this Sears Kenmore refrigerator has reached end-of-life. It's been in service since the early 1980's.

A few moths ago it started purring softly (like a cat) instead of the motor starting up. Likely the compressor stalling. And thawing, to leak a lot of water on the floor. I got the tech out and he disassembled something to clear an internal drain and stop the flooding, but it wasn't doing the purring when he was here. He said everything checked normal including the fans, and the coils were sufficiently clean. Everything tested good except for the damaged door seals, he said the unit was so old that those were no longer available.

Then more recently, a couple of months later, far more noise started coming from the compressor along with a wailing like a siren that I estimate was one of the fans stalling and re-starting. And now the annoyingly loud compressor has started running almost 24/7. Cooling seems normal, maybe a little warmer in the freezer than before.

Seemed to me replacing it, about $900, made more sense compared to another $175 (plus return with parts?) service call for something this old. I bought the replacement refrigerator, to be installed next week.

Legit. I've had a couple "it must be dead this time" with our older fridges (one bought new in '92, one bought new in '00 - they're just getting started!), but so far I've lucked out and it was just coils & fan like I said (a clod of lint getting hit by the almost-foil-thin fan makes a very strange sound!).
Last time the fan was making noise I bought a new one, pulled the fridge out, cleaned everything, found the new fan was the wrong part, slightly tweaked the old fan and put the fridge back and ordered a correct fan. The fan still made noise for like two weeks but then it stopped (making noise, not spinning) so I have a few correct fan waiting to replace that one if I need to pull the fridge from its cabinet again, we'll see.

Frigidaire sucks. I bought Refrigerator, range, over the range microwave/exhaust fan, dishwasher when I redid the house I bought not even two years ago.

Dishwasher didn't work right out of the box. Took three weeks, two different techs, and three trips to get it to turn on. One and a half years later it quit "cleaning" the dishes. Tried everything. Cleaning screens three times a day. Running empty cycles to make sure it is flushed out. Cycles with vinegar. No luck. Trash.
Oven control board died after 6 months. Again 4 weeks to get the part. Two different techs and two trips to fix it. I finally had to put the new board in myself because they said it would be two more weeks to get the tech back out to install it.
Refrigerator constantly freezes what ever is on the top shelf.

I am putting KitchenAid in my new house. Ended up buying the dishwasher and using it now and then when the new house is built I will take it out and move it to the new house. Kitchenaid dishwasher is phenomenal. It is their top of the line 3 rack model.
I went with KitchenAid because Bosch doesn't have a sidebyside refrigerator.
Well I sure jinxed myself with this post.
The over the range microwave was the only appliance out of the batch that worked...until the other night.
Went to heat up a frozen hamburger roll and...zzzzzaaaappp, flash, POW!
Time to pick up a new one today.

I can give GE dryer a big ZERO vote. We had to replace our dryer during Covid. Last month that $1300 dryer just decided to refuse to turn on. It being still under warranty we called for repair. Two weeks later the tech service man replaced every computer panel with no change. Suddenly the dryer just decided to start running again. No hint of what the problem was.
We kept all of the original computer panels for the probable future service call.

I am not sure how I missed this golden comment. We (my wife) had our hearts set on black stainless appliances, she is more about aesthetics than function. Therefore, we thought well everything needs to be the same brand because all of the blcak stainlesses are different. After watching some videos on why you do not want black stainless, we have decided to go with reg. stainless. Which will allow us more easily to mix and match manufacturers. After exhaustive research on the topic it seems that is the best way forward. It seems like @Popgadget came to that same conclusion. I might mimic very closely your choices @Popgadget. Definitely Bosch dishwasher, you and EVERYONE else might have sold me on the Speedqueens. GE Profile was very high on the list for the others. Thanks for your input.
