OK, the TC30 has its fuel port right center of the hood. What tricks have you come up with to keep from pouring fuel all over the hood?

A big funnel.

Same for me. I let the 5 gallon can rest on the front end loader arm and aim the spout into the funnel

Years ago (decades, actually) I got a galv funnel with little ears that lock into the filler neck the way the cap does, so the funnel doesn't wobble around when you're pouring. It also has a fine brass screen in the bottom. Haven't seen one lately, but haven't been looking either. I think I got it at Agway. Still there's sometimes a bit of fuel on the hood after.
Actually the hard part is not fueling until I'm down more than halfway on the guage, as there's no way to tell the tank's full until just as it overflows. Probably the rear tanks are better that way. Below half on the guage it'll take 5 gallons OK. Some kind of storage tank would be good, but I just don't use enough. Maybe when I retire...

HRS,

I do not have a TC30 but I use a 5 gallon can with one of the vent free/"spill proof" spouts that are required here (due to CARB). The spout keeps the fuel from coming out until a collar on the outside of it is slid down.

You aim at the fuel tank opening, turn the can upside down (without it pouring, although they leak a few drops as they get older), and insert the spout into the fuel tank opening. A tab on the collar sticks out and you use the side of the opening to push the collar down. The fuel then comes out. It is not as fast at filling as a large spout but you rest some of the weight on the edge of the fuel tank. One word of caution is that as the spout ages it will stick when you lift up and it will not automatically close as it should.

Here is a link to one at Lowes. CARB Diesel can I should warn you that they are alot more expensive than standard cans.

I don't have a TC30, but I have a TC-24D that also fills in the center of the hood. I purchased one of these from TSC - Han-D-Pump I believe it was about $13. It screws on the top of a normal 5 gallon jug. I've used it now for almost 3 years. Last year I ended buying a new fuel line for it as the one that came with it got pretty bad. I also have a couple of pumps that I put on a 15 gallon barrel that I'll use if I know I'll go through it before the end of the season. I believe last year I filled the barrel twice and the 5 gallon can 4 times. Or at least that is what I claimed on my taxes. May have filled the 5 gallon can more than that.

Thanks guys.

Jim, I just saved the link. I was just thinking that maybe TSC would have something like that before I logged on. I'll be checking it out.

I do the 5g can and funnel when I'm not near mu hand pump and nozzle.

It gets kinda difficult on my ford 5000 and NH 7610s... fuel fill is taller than I am.. and not in a real great place for standing on the running boards..e tc..

With all the posts that concern bad fuel I purchased Mr. Funnel. Check it out at the following;
http://www.mrfunnel.com/Home.html

It works great. To test it you add water! yes water;; none will run through the funnel. Yes it is pricey, but considering cost of an injector pump or an injector it is like changing oil on schedule. Would you add a little dirt with your oil? You will be surprised what is left in the Mr. Funnel after filling your fuel tank. I use it all the time even when tractor is on trailer and I fill at service station, I fill through the Mr. Funnel and will find debris even right from the fuel station pump.
