You can buy the "No Spill" spouts for $10-$12 on Amazon. Paying $32-$35 for complete can and spout makes no sense if you already have good cans.

Hmm. Have you actually been able to use the spouts on cans not made by "No Spill"? E.g., Blitz or Chilton. I just read the Amazon Q&A and the reviews, and they all seem to say they don't fit.

No, just started researching them. You are correct, they evidently only fit their cans. Please excuse my incorrect post.

My apologies.

True if the threads on the No Spill are the same as your existing jugs. I need to check my other jugs to see if the threads are compatible.

Before I found the No Spill, I bought a couple of the EZ Pour replacement spouts, and the threads were different than my jugs' threads. EZ Pour includes two different types of heads and neither one of them fit my jugs worth a darn, and both of them leaked.

55 gal drum and 12vdc pump. 8gal/min. So about 2 minuets to fill up. When drum is empty load on truck and go get it filled. Unload via FEL and done.

Seeing how my thread is still going 9 months later...

I've been using a transparentish 55 gallon plastic drum & manual pump. 1/2 or 1/4 gallon per stroke goes pretty fast, even with the water blocking filter on.

It sits on a pallet in the shop (no sun issues for the plastic). Just hit 100 hours on the tractor & am close to having to fill it up for the 3rd time. The local gas station has off road diesel & is only a little over a mile away. Pallet forks make loading/unloading easy.

Power Service white bottle has been keeping the fuel in good flowing shape.

I'm pretty happy with the setup after starting with a pair of 5 gallon cans, which were a pain.

This is EXACTLY what we do. Found the diaphragm pump on CL for 35 bucks, added the suction hose and a fuel/water filter...DONE! I can even pump with just one person if parked close enough to our tank.

This is what I am considering, as an upgrade to using four 5 gallon diesel cans. It wasn't that much of a problem filling the 1026R, but the 3720 has the fuel fill cap on top of the hood.

I'm aware that these fuel pumps can be DC or AC (or manual, of course). Ideally, I'd like to be able to fill by myself, which means having a nozzle with automatic shutoff, I think.

Anyone have any experience with auto-shutoff nozzles? Or opinions on AC vs. DC?

An auto-shutoff nozzle will work on a manual pump. I have one on my crank pump and it works well.

Haven't read through the whole thread to see if this has been mentioned yet, but I use a 275 gallon heating oil tank with a Tuthill manual pump I scrounged somewhere.

I live in a fishing village and virtually all of the lobster boats are diesels, so off-road diesel delivery is readily available. I usually get 100 gallons at a time and treat it with a bit of algicide as 100 gallons will typically last me a year or more.
