How do you get rid of Honey Locust Trees?

I got rid of all the locusts on my property by using my backhoe. I found they are much easier to dig out than cut down with a chainsaw. I don't remember how many chains I wore out cutting them down before I had the hoe. I probably took out about 30 of them just this year alone, and have several more to do next year. They are like weeds and will take over any land that isn't plowed or mowed.

I've used Tordon also. Usually do it this time of year, using the quart squirt bottle that comes with the gallon jug. Put it on the top outside edge of the stump. Doing it this time of year takes it into the roots, when the sap goes down.

Remedy + diesel. 15% Remedy. Put in a windex spray bottle, spray the trunk in an 18 inch band completely around the trunk.

I cut down 250 locust tress last winter, stacked them and burned. This year I discovered I did it the hard way. If it's more of a bush, I sprayed the whole bush. Do NOT spray larger trees into the top of the tree....the spray will drift and you will kill other things you don't want to.

I did the chainsaw/burn method on my place and follow up with herbicide on the little ones that keep coming up every year.
