how do you get to the ignition switch on a 3020 John Deere to replace it

Is your 3020's serial # below or above 123,000? Below 123,000 one removes one bolt(item 46) that allows cowling to be removed that ign switch is attached to with a large nut. On later model side panel removal requires removing a nut(item 16) then slide side panel(item 1 &/or 17) rearward. To access nut one needs to remove side shield that has 3020 decal attached.
