I am trying to remove the turn signal switch on my TC33D from the black plastic panel and need to know how the switch comes off. I assume that the switch handle (for lack of a better name) just pops off and a retaining nut is under it. But it doesn't seem to want to pop off? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can anyone tell me how this comes off?

Thanks,

Re: Need help from someone with Class II Assembly Man.

Brandon, I think your switch is very likely similar to the Class III switch, so I'll tell you how it is assembled. On top of the switch, there is a decal with a large left-right (<-- -->) arrow. That decal extends over the center of the switch. If you lift the decal at the center of the switch, there is a phillips head screw holding the handle onto the switch shaft. It's very much like the bail on a hose bib. You remove the center screw and the handle can be lifted off the shaft. On my tractor, the decal covers the hole, but I can see the round impression where the screw is located. I hope your part is similar and this helps.

When your tractor has been around for 50 years and someone is rebuilding it as a antique, they can say, "Hey! Look at this switch. It's just like new; looks like it's never been used." /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Need help from someone with Class II Assembly Man.

because the laws in ohio and california require them. So it is easier to put them on all tractor instead of just tractors going to these states

Re: Need help from someone with Class II Assembly Man.

Thanks Jinman! (no I'm not SO stupid, my tractor is stored 5 miles away and I've had NO seat time this year due to the wet conditions. Mine is for my business use only. So I get no "play" or orientation time. And can't walk out to look. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
