Just comparing the stocks. English straight vs. Standard Pistol Grip. Why does one person prefer Kubota and one John Deere, or another Kioti?
Its all about preference. Some may like the straight stock.

Nothing wrong with a straight stock. On the right gun like light weight double barrel. Just a strange addition to America's most utilitarian shotgun. And it handles okay in all honesty. I just don't think that people who like straight stocks will want an 870 and people who like 870s (like me) will want a straight stock. But, there's got to be someone out there who wants one. They aren't worth much and I'll let this one go fairly cheap.

I've posted the Ruger .358 on Arms List and hope to find a local buyer.

Personally, I would sell to an individual by word of mouth. I would never buy/sell a firearm that provided the government with a single iota of information. If you are comfortable the buyer is not criminally insane - that's good enough.

Local gunshow always has folks walking around with guns for sale. Most have information and price attached so folks interested can just see it for themselves. If your state requires transfers by FFLs, then the gunshow will have some there that can do transfers.
