How do you use a FEL on snow

Sorry, I always do that....just reply to the last person on the thread.

I think that the atmosphere is not finiite in that the gasses don't go there and stay there forever. If that were so, the volcanic activity alone should have killed this world a long time ago. I think that from time to time gasses which affect climate rise and fall and that the weather will change depending on which cycle we are on.

Now I don't think it's bad to try to limit our exhaust emissions but since it is being used politically what is expected is pushed and pushed until the goals become ridiculous. This seems to be true of just about every political group out there. Ride an issue until there is no more to be gained from it regardless if what is being asked doesn't make sense.

Alaksa, I am not going to argue climate with you on a tractor list! We humans have a short memory and from a geological point of view (yes I have all the degrees) our period of record keeping is extremely short compared to that which scientists have at their disposal ---the geological record! We are in fact nearing the end, most likely anyway of an Interglacial period marking the beginning of the Holocene and the rise of mankind. The earth has actually been in a cool down when you look at it by laymens reference standards "vast" time intervals--nothing that I see in the PC correct news leads me to see it otherwise. The earths fate in eventual time will be that of a frozen ball of ice--that is my educated thought. Carbon dixoxide is locked up in vast quantities removed from the atmospehre during the Carboniferous period (the age of coal and plants). Even more untold amounts are locked into limestones accumulated for eons as the tests (shells) of tiny sea creatures. All this was once free in the atmosphere and is one of the reasons the earths distant past was warmer than our comparitively temporate climate of the Holocene. All we are doing by burning fossil fuels is recycling CO2 as a small cog in the Earth's climatic/rock cycle. Like a giant conveyor belt rock is recycled (seafloor spreading and subduction) and vented back through volcanic activity and also due to weathering processes which release CO2 etc. If this is upsetting to Barbara Striesand, so be it. I think I will go recycle some fossil fuel tomorrow with the 'bota, how about the rest of you guys? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif J

smoke from fatorys maynot have been a good point to use .how many car pool(?) now days or take a bus or eletric tram????not many on here i would think .ok i could use bio fuel in my tractor but the govt will not sell it of set up a plant to make it .i also note ya prez has stated there are going to be more coal fired power plants and koyto(??)agreament can go F$%^ it's self ..even here there is some backlash to koyto(?) as some trees already growing will be taxed if cut down and sheep and cattle farmers will be taxed cos there animals put out mefaine(?) as a farmer if wanting to sell food to the masses ya have to be a bit green in what ya do and how ya treat animals ..as for burning fuels if there was a better green fuel i'd look at it ..but no one has stated how much carbon was released during forest fires 1000's of years ago when no one stoped them also the rotting dino's releasing mefaine as they rotted ..i see the weather patterns upset as more of a worry coldest winter ,dryest fall ,wetest summer etc etc as a consern to me

I think that's where our opinions differ. You see mankind burning fuel as a small cog in earth's cycle, while I see it as a huge cog in our present state. Yes the earth has been here for billions of years and will be here for billions more. But in my time on this earth I have seen dramatic changes that can only be attributed to human actions. Examples include the fact that I can no longer see the milky way from my backyard as I could when I was a kid, Ozone action days when the air quality is so bad that they tell you to keep your kids inside and ask companies to close down for the day so that more automobile exhaust won't be put into the air by commuting workers, entire aquafers poisoned by septic systems or industrial dumping grounds and so on. Don't you think these problems are caused directly by human activiey?

The ozone hole increases during an election year? Must be some type of gas the politicians are releasing!! Kinda like the so called energy crisis we experienced last year.

Hi ya
this is also where we differ .i still see the stars most nights .most places i can still drink the water with out adding 101 diffrent chems to make it safe.NZ has 1 coal fired power plant 99%of NZ's power is hydro,BUT this is changeing with a dairy boom there is more cows more fert being used and leaching into water ways ,more people liveing in auckland and placeing strains on water etc etc ,if i go in to town i can smell the coal fires and smog hanging around, there is better ways but untill govts stop listening the greens /getting backhanders from big biz and give the middle ground a fair hearing alot if these ideas will get pased over

Yeah, it just gets tiring when it seems that politicians or special interest groups are always trying to put us in a panic over something to get what they want. After a while I just stop listening to any of it..../w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
