How do you use your adjustable lower arm - level, tilted, float or adjustable?

Steve, you need to remember that only a few tractors even have the floating slots in the side link clevises. Even JD only has those slots in their deluxe models. So the majority of people do not have that floating option that you are talking about and using. But I agree with you that using those floating slots can have a big advantage for different types of 3pt work. ;)

Learn something new everyday I guess, never paid it much attention but thought most all hitches had an adjustable slot on them.

Steve, I'm not seeing what you mean in my mind - any chance you could post a pic of your hitch? Sounds like a mod I might wanna do. Thanks... Steve (the other one :=)

Not Steve, but here is a pic of a lower side link clevis on a JD. The pin gets rotated 90 degrees and that allows for that lower arm to move up & down independently of the other side. Do that on both sides and you then get double the movement capabilities.

3rd pic down and 3rd pic over.

Don't forget that a lot of older tractors (and some new ones like New Holland) have the hand crank adjustment on the right arm. This makes it easier to attach 3PH implements. You would normally attach the left lower arm first and then the right lower arm. If the right arm won't slip on easily you can quickly crank the adjustment to get it to slip on the pin. Much easier than man handling the implement itself. I had the crank adjustment on my old Ford 9N and NAA and really miss it on my JD 2720.
