Thought that would get your attention!

But seriously, when my mower (60" MM on BX23) is at it's fully retracted setting and I go over bumpy ground, it kinda rattles up and down a bit on one side. Is this normal, or should I look to adjust it? It came from the dealer with the cutting height settings pretty much matching the knob and cuts fine and evenly.

Just finished my first weekend with the new BX23. Not quite the bear my old Teramite backhoe was, but adequate for what I need it for now. Attached is a picture of it in it's new home. Just about fits in the 16'x12' shed, but have to rest the bucket on the potting table to close the door. When I dismount the mower for winter, I expect that I will have to store that in the garage, so next years project is going to be a 6' x 16' extension to the shed!

Hey mine hangs a little loose on the left side when up and wobbles a bit.But it works fine.Sound's a little funny for a tractor site you got to admit.Keep the shinny side up.Red

Mine bangs away pretty good when I travel over bumpy ground. It doesn't take long to remove and turning the scalp wheels 90 degrees makes it a joy to just zip out from under the tractor. I always remove my deck if I'm going to be doing other work with the tractor. She sure looks pretty all new and shiny, huh?

Speedy7,
My BX22 does the same thing. Gets annoying after a while. If yours cuts OK, as mine does, I wouldn't try adjusting anything. You might want to check your adjustments just to make sure everything is OK. I checked mine and found nothing wrong.

Catchy title /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
So since I looked I'll go on ahead give my $0.02. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
One of the adjustments for the MMM is to adj the lift linkage to where the MMM stops 1/4" shy of hitting the right side stop at it's maximum lift point. It's covered pretty well in the MMM owners manual. This is where it's hitting.
I've been pondering on securing a small rubber pad at both points on the MMM where it contacts the frame stops but I've been living with it since day one and haven't gotten past the pondering stage, I just slow down. Perhaps it'll make a good winter project.

Have you discovered how easy it is to take off with the parking brake set yet? The lugging engine is your 1st indicator /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know, maybe it's because I kept reading about it here before I got mine, but so far, it has not happened to me. I tend to start off slow when I first get going anyway, and then increase the throttle, so it's pretty obvious if the brake is on.

This weekend alone, I must have had the FEL and BH off and on at least 3 times, so it's a testament to how easy it is. I haven't taken the mower deck off yet, and I understand that is not as simple, what with the PTO coupling and all. I plan on building a dolly for removal and another one for vertical storage.

The banging is your rear links bouncing off the frame stop. If you lower the deck a little bit (1/2") it stops.

Removing the MMM scares me less than the BH or FEL. The engine is off and nothing has very far to fall. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Very easy once you have done it a few times, just do it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also pick up a set of stands for $89 to store the mmm at this company, they work great, and Larry is a just a great guy to do business with.

Agree, R&R'ing the MMM isn't as bad as many say.
One trick I use is to drop the MMM a few inches inorder to spin the left side rear caster, the rest are very easy to spin.
The locking collar makes the PTO shaft easy to connect/disconnect.

I have a set of those moweraxles and they work very well for stowing and serviceing the MMM.
