How does your garden grow?

Every year the Deer eat my peppers....and my Mrs. Hostas.....Last year the deer ate the Jalapeno peppers...this year they are eating the cherry peppers...I was really looking forward to those....Now I'm looking at my hunting license....

I know I'm not saving any money with the garden, but I'm keeping the deer out. I spent $280 in fencing for my garden and Mamma's. It will be good for several years, and I'm even thinking of putting in more posts and some cable so I can plant grapevines along the fence. But before I do, I may move it out a little. That way I will have room to make the garden bigger if I decide to.

I picked a few radishes today; first crop of 2014. That's not really noteworthy but I found it ironic that what I planted on Mother's Day was ready on Father's Day...

It looks like the tomatoes are going to be ready before the cucumbers.

I picked the purple hulls this morning. Not really enough for a mess, but Mamma had some that my cousin brought her, so I'm taking her the few I picked. In a couple of days there will be a good mess.



I transplanted a few Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers this morning. I'm not crazy about the super hot peppers, but a friend of Margie's gave us a few seeds. I put them at the very end of the garden, so maybe they won't make the other peppers too hot. I should try to cross them with bells, and just see what happens.



I side dressed the crowder peas. I learned from the others, and used very little 13-13-13 this time. I worked over the fertilizer with the cultivator, but didn't have time to use the hoe.



Since I already had the push plow out, I went ahead and did the pinto beans and the just sprouted 2nd planting of cucumbers.



I also transplanted a row of New Mexico Chili peppers, but I didn't get any pictures of them. There is room for another row of bells, and maybe another row of tomatoes. After that I'm going to have to wait for something to be tilled up before I can do anymore planting.
