How far is too far?

My first tractor i had for 14 years... and went to the shop 1 time for damaged front axle.

My current tractor was purchased from dealer 50 miles away. When i had an issue with the tractor the dealer came and repaired it at my place ...for free. Alot depends on good rap-ore with the dealer. Mind you, if i ever have a major issue ill simply haul the tractor to him.

With all the money i saved on this tractor i got a nice trailer...haha

Again thanks guys. I like the TYM (at least what I have seen in pics - haven't seen one in person yet). So I am going to look at it this weekend I think. I agree with most of you. I have had my truck for 4 years and haven't even taken it in for the recalls. I just don't think of going to a dealer for anything. Now warranty work I would consider it.

go look at the tym. nice tractor, but i hope that they have moved the controls for the rear remotes further forward. the one i test drove had them way in the back....not good placement

i would like a dealer to be within reasonable drive in case i need to go pick up parts. sometimes there are updated ones and i like to talk to the guy behind the desk, the guys at the local (20 miles away) JD parts seem to be very knowledgeable so far. other than that (and possibly warranty work), i don't need the dealer, i prefer to do ll my own work, maintenance, wrenching, etc
