Are you talking about the metal "U" channel? If so, you will need redhead anchors and a hammer drill...it bolt's down. Put a layer of sill sealer under it so the metal does not touch concrete. I used tar paper, but sill sealer would have been a way better way to go. Home Desperate and Blowes carry sill sealer in 6"x50' rolls.....around $7 a roll.

Thanks Sir this is new territory for me any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Add redhead anchors and sill sealer to the list. Slowly working on getting everything ready just can't lift up till after the planning decision. How often do you recommend on the redhead anchors? Thanks again...

I used the industrial plate which is different in design, but I am guessing every 2 feet would also be proper for the "U channel".

This web site shows a pic of the 3 attachment methods, trough, Industrial base plate, and "U" channel:
Arch Steel Building Assembly | Metal Buildings, Steel Buildings, Carports, DiY Assembly

Steelmaster calls theirs a "C" channel and it has pre drilled holes for the anchors:

Shop around for the anchors(red heads)...they ain't cheap.

THanks found the Seal sil today. One shed is down and privacy fence is up in that section. Looking at mounting c-chanel to concrete next. Redhead think 3/8 ? I think that should do well at what you recommended every 2 ft ... Son's going to get rid of the scrap metal next weekend... Shed was rusted thru in spots... Thanks for the advice keep it coming didn't expect all the little odds and ends this is a learning experience big time. Would have never thought of the seal sil before... Decide to go with concrete floor it will just have to have a dirt middle until I can do it.... Will take awhile since I only deal in cash these days... Hopefully the Planning commision gives the go ahead on the 15th so I get to work but getting as much done as I can as I go...

THanks for the help, Motorseven I know I am being a pest but I am learning alot...

Okay more questions.
1. since I am using the channel do they over lap or butt up to each other?

2. The end piece's I have the channel would that be square with the wall channels?

3. On the Sill seal do I need to put a adhesive to hold in place since I have to double up to cover the channel?

4. Anyone know how to ID this so I can figure out which company manufactored?

Going to mount the channels this weekend trying to get as much done as I can before I ask for help of other people.

Looking forward to getting started just need to make it past the planning board... Be glad to have the old pool covered the 9 feet on one side of cement will give me a place to store stuff from the other sheds until I can get the pool area cemented.

1.Mine butted, I assume U channel is the same.

2.end pieces?

3.caulk or glue won't hurt anything.

4.From what I remember there are only 3 steel plants that make these arches in N. America and they are all pretty much interchangeable. There are no marking at all on my arches. It's kinda funny that there are dozens of dealers all saying that theirs is better than the competitions.

Do you have a bunch of sections or "L" channel....2"x8' or so? This "L" strapping goes on the outside of the building horizontally(middle, top and middle). You install it as you build your arches and it keep them in line and square. They are detailed in my building thread, so make sure you put them in...they will keep you from pulling your hair out halfway down the build.

End pieces where the corners meeting? I am trying to lay my c channel down and secure with redheads and was wondering if the ends are square.

l strapping? will double check... Don't think so though....

CMyoung2 sent me the instructions for his and it mentioned strapping but this build did not have any...

I noticed your strapping on the inside of the bldg in the pics....

I built my own endwalls, so I didn't have any end sections of base channel.

The L strapping goes on the outside. See if you can find some or make some as they really help keep things square.
