How heavy should a tractor be?

/ How heavy should a tractor be? #41
My opinion is that you soil is the problem, not your tractor. I live just west of the Indiana state line and have very heavy yellow clay. When we first broke ground on our garden plot it was awful. The clay was so gummy, after tilling with our 37hp Kubota we would end up with fist sized balls of hard clay. It was all the tractor could handle with the 6ft. tiller. After amending the soil with grass clippings for 10 years it tills up like a dream with little effort from the same equipment.
