Yup, you're on the right track. Regular here in my town (CA) is $3.05 now! By the way, speaking of Arnold, did you know I worked out with him several times at Bill Pearl's Pasadena Health Club in the early 70's? He came in there regularly to get a "body wrap" form Bill before his posing exhibitions. Gas was high then too...about .70¢/gal I think.

I just have trouble with the voice that emanated from that neck.

I put a lock on my bulk tank which I just filled 3 weeks ago at $2.05 and I believe locking gas caps are in order for the auto's. Though I don't drive over the road anymore, I am a local driver, there is a lot of talk on the CB about guys getting their tanks drained at the truck stops while they are sleeping.

I guess the thread I started about the $7.00/gallon diesel by 2010 is coming true faster than Stanford University thought possible. ORD here in Michigan/Ohio is running at $2.99. Regular Unleaded is $2.89/79 (due to different tax structure in Ohio).

It's scary in as much as folks spendable income is being eaten up by fuel costs for their vehicles to drive to and from work. Between food, fuel and the mortgage payment, for quite a few folks, there isn't much of any money left. That's real scary.

By the way, despite what the Gummit says, our unemployment rate here in the Wolverine is better than 6% and if Delphi and GM flushes, we'll be at at least 10%.

I'm glad I don't drive under any overpasses on the way to work......never know what might fall from one. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a good idea about the locking gas caps. I wouldn't be surprised if a wave of gas stealing occurs around here. You never know. My blazer only holds 30 gals but the guys with the Suburbans and twin tanks, etc. could be prime targets too. I'd hate to get stuck somewhere with an empty gas tank. I usually take it for granted and don't look at the gas gauge after a fill-up. So I'm sure to drive to somewhere secluded and run out of gas before I realized it! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not entirely sure on this, but, I believe the filler neck on newer cars (with the flap inside) makes it about impossible to siphon gas out.....guess you could put a bucket underneath and poke the tank with a screwdriver if the thief was desperate.

I did a dumb thing last fall. I left the gas in the quad and it sat in the barn until yesterday. Needless to say, the carb is off and sitting in B12 Chemtool. I forgot the Stabil. Old gas is really nasty. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Same gas station as above post only this weekend it's $3.44. It was cheaper in Three Rivers for a change...$3.37.

Today, here in Petersburg, Mi where the water stinks, regular unleaded is $2.79.9 and diesel is $299.0. ORD is $2.55 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm tickled I got my ORD at $2.05.

I just took a 2000 mile trip to West Carolina and back, highest I paid was $3.27 in Kentucky.......

Local paper did a story about the increase in "drive-offs", people who fill up and leave the station without paying. One station saw it go from 20 a year to 122 last year, there's legislation pending here to make all gas stations pre-pay now......
