How important is spelling and punctuation to you?

I'm 65 and I don't GAS. If I can't read it I don't and continue on.

I wonder how you deal with people that do not communicate at your level of hearing. You know, you know, ahhh.....you know, ahh, maybe a pause or two, maybe not looking you in the eye? Who knows.

Amen brother !! I don't feel the need to correct adults on their English, spelling, or punctuation.

+2.....I hate the autocorrect feature on my Android...had several Blackberries with a REAL keyboard prior to switching to Android and I LOVED the BB OS....HEY MURPHY1244 are you GOING TO B*TCH AT ME FOR YELLING HERE????

I turned off the auto correct on my Android on day one...Hate that.

Today's students write their essays and term papers on word processors that have grammar, punctuation and spelling checks/prompts...

How many engineers that graduated in the last 25-30 years can efficiently use a slide rule?

The US military now trains more RC drone pilots than actual pilots...

Technology has replaced the need for knowing the theory/reason behind some things that were once considered a basic requirement...

That is so true, sadly. Those of us who know such things are now called SME's.. Pitiful actually.

Correcting them would be about as rude and condescending as you could get, IMHO. I would never insult someone because of their English, or maybe I should say "Poor English", unless, of course, I was teaching an English class. But...like I said before, your usage of the language, either written or spoken, says something about you. I prefer to send the message that I have at least a working knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
