How is Bird doing?

Good thoughts for Bird......a very class guy.......get well soon!

I did the reply on my IPhone which isn't much fun.

When I called his wife answered and when I asked how he was doing she handed him the phone and said, "it's Harvey."

At first he sounded a little confused was hard to understand. Then the old Bird voice came around and he was the Bird we all know and love. He sounded really good once he got going. He complained about feeling like crap with food tasting so bad and being so exhausted. I told him that he sounded just like Miss Glenda with her chemo treatments. We laughed together and he sent her best wishes.

His voice was strong and I feel good about his condition. He bragged on the hospital doing over a 150 heart surgeries last year and is on a schedule to do over 200 this year. So it sounds like he is in good hands.

I think the last time Bird really worked a tractor was when we did Jim's elevator project. He did good on it too.

Once again, the old voice kicked right in and I believe that in a short period of time he will moving those fingers posting his comments on his favorite online place with all of his online friends.

I don't know Bird but from his posts he sure seems like a really square guy. Old school good.

Thanks for the update Harvey. At Jim's, Bird jumped on the tractor like jumping on back on a bike - just comes naturally.

Good stuff on Bird, and the food not tasting good is normal (that was one of the first things I said to my wife when I got home- guess it wasn't her cooking :laughing. The other thing is I found that really helped was a lounge chair that had an electric tilt mechanism. Pretty much lived in that thing until I didn't have to "hug a pillow" getting up and down.

He probably won't feel like doing much of anything for a several weeks, but let him know the food thing goes away pretty quickly, and following his doctors instructions on exercise really does speed up the recovery.

I let him know the reason I was calling was because of all the concern on TBN for him. He'll get a real kick out of reading this thread.

We are family, neighbors kind of family, it's just a virtual kind.......
