Just thought I'd post an update to this thread. I had the triple bypass surgery on 2/4/2016, got out of the hospital on 2/10/2016. I've had both good and bad days; had trouble sleeping for awhile, but overall, I reckon I've done at least as well as could be expected. I saw the cardiologist on 2/25/2016 and he modified a couple of my prescriptions (I've never taken so many pills in my life). And he made me an appointment for 5/25/2016 (yep, said he wouldn't need to see me again for 3 months). So today (3/1/2016) I saw the surgeon and his P.A. (physician's assistant). I went with a list of 10 questions and the P.A. answered all of them to my satisfaction. The important one was why the pain in one spot in my chest when the other pains are gone now. When I told her I still had pain just in one spot, she just put her finger right on it and said, "Right here?" Anyway, she explained what they did right there and why it's going to take some time to heal.
So they gave me the standard instructions to get plenty of exercise and eat right. They said I can drive now, but can't mow the yard and do such chores as that until 4/1/2016 (8 weeks after the surgery). And unless something unusual comes up, I won't be seeing them again.
