Could you post that information or a link to it here?

CNH >> Investor Relations >> Overview

This would be New Holland's.

Most of these companies are publicly traded. Everyone of these companies are reading each others quarterly reports as a source of corporate intelligence. You can learn all kinds of interesting stuff if you care to take the time. They share all kinds of information with their investors that they typicaly would not advertise.

Yes I do.

Thats pretty freely available information if you take a look at the companies SEC filings. Only 12% of their product comes from other suppliers.

SEC----that's the reports that the guys on wall street read every day----They??? saw this mess coming????----But kept on taking millions of pay!!!!!You expect me to believe one word of those reports----come on this is not my first rodeo with these clowns---Their Marketing people are good---Who else can sell a "special" bolt" for $10 or $20 dollars that you can buy at a hardware store for 20 cents. Who else would have you believe that they build "everything" they sell---Thank goodness for modern technology---information around the world in 30 seconds or less!!!! I understand confidence building and I also understand true FACTS!!!! An MBA ain't nothing without a good "accountant"!!!! Figures and Facts don't Lie people DO!!!! 12% of 10% or 12% of 100% they may of made a type o!!!

I was interested in Mahindra's information.
I've seen an interview with the president of M&M and he said they wanted to be the largest tractor manufacturer in the world. I'd like to see figures (reliable) on where everybody stands.

There is alot of hot air when they make those statements. If thats really their goal, they could start by building a larger percentage of their own tractors rather than getting them from Mitsubishi and TYM. As it stands Mahindra sells about 7000-8000 units a month globaly... thats available in their financial reports. For comparison Kubota does about double that in just the USA and we're only 30% of their global sales. There is not a prayer that even Kubota will ever challange companes like CNH, Deere and AGCO for being 'The largest tractor manufacturer in the world' in our lifetimes.

Neil,

I've heard numbers a little higher for Mahindra, over 100,000 units a year for Mahindra, but I've not seen proof. I would say Mahindra is building nearly 90% of their own tractors now. TYM based products now represent a very small fraction of Global sales. Mitsubishi products are a big chunk of USA sales, but probably 5% of global sales.

People use the numbers that work best for them. In the USA, Kubota outsells Mahindra by a long shot. Kubota has been in the USA longer and they have done a great job of reading the market and building products that people want to buy.

But if you say Kubota is selling 15,000 tractors a month in the USA and that is only 30% of their total global sales, I'd like to see some support for that. That would be about 600,000 tractors a year worldwide for Kubota. There is no way that is correct, not even within the realm of reason. What is a unit? For Mahindra it is a tractor. Not a box scraper, not a loader, not a lawn mower, etc. Worldwide, I suspect Mahindra outsells Kubota in tractor units.

When Mahindra says they expect to be the number one tractor company in the world, it would be based on total tractor units by brand. So it would be like Mahindra vs New Holland, not Mahindra vs CNH. Like Buick vs Mercury, not Ford Motor Co vs GM. CNH, Deere and Agco are huge when you look at total $$ sales, and that is admittedly the most accurate way to do it. I guess you could take Mahindra and Mahindra globally and include the auto sector and other arms and look at it's value and yearly sales, but then we are really out of the realm of farm equipment.

No matter how you slice and dice it, Mahindra is a huge company and a significant player globally and increasingly so in the USA. They are stable, strong and here to stay.

Yea, I've never taken the time to dig though Kubota's stock info. They are on the NASDAQ, so I am sure you could find good information there. They share alot of that high level stuff pretty freely with dealers.

The AEM report shows the USA market for under 100Hp at around 250,000 units a year. Kubota now has over a 50% market share so thats approx 11,000 a month of compacts. Add in RTV's, ZD's where they also control well over 50% of the diesel market... and the rest of the line and 15,000/month is probably about spot on. Remeber, there are 1050+ Kubota dealers.. so thats only 15 units a month per dealer average. The USA is 30-35% of gobal sales, Japan is about the same, and the EU/Asia is the balance. So yea, connecting the dots as best we can I'd say 600,000 a year is not out of the question.

Guys, check your math... 15,000 is 30% of 50,000, not 600,000.

Guys, check your math... 15,000 is 30% of 50,000, not 600,000.

...and 50K x 12 months is? ;) I'd still like to see how many of the units are actual tractors, but if Neil's numbers are anywhere close, I am impressed.

"50 manufacturing facilities---in Japan,Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Indian, China and South America---Do you really think they own a dang thing in each of these locations???? The Marketing Department is working overtime on you!!!----How many plant tours have you been on outside the US--- a few I know but the rest you have only been told about by the Marketing "Department"---I think if you take a world tour you will be surprised!!!...."

Yes, they do. AGCO for instance owns Fendt with its European ops, Valtra with European and South American plants, and MF with operating factories in Europe, South America, and partners in Turkey and Eastern Europe. CNH has vast holdings among the former FIAT/Case/ Ford/New Holland/ Steyr/Fiat-Allis/Laverda, etc. lines with factories and facilities around the globe. John Deere is a global company with plants around the world. They all have some partnerships and co-operative agreements in various markets around the world with various companies but these represent a significant minority of their total output vs. their own operations.

Kubota? Love their products but they are not an international ag powerhouse by any means. The others...Mahindra, Montana, TYM, Daedong, Mitsu, etc. are short-liners with good names and a market niche. Others like Same-DF and Landini and Claas are somewhere in between the two as semi-major OEMs without the international strength across all boards.
