How Large ???

I only have 220 single phase in the garage ??
100 amps…service

I would like to know how Large of a MIG welder one can
Get that will run on single phase 220 volts ??

A couple of the manufacturers max out at 225-250 Amps from what I found. Except for the Millermatic 350, it will operate on single phase 220V.

Lincoln 225
Hobart 250
Miller 350

50 amps ( half your box) will do most anything you need.We never use a bigger circuit when welding anywhere in the plant.Stick or MIG.
Just don't try to run to much big stuff at one time.
