Tires how long did your factory tires last????

I have almost 1800 hours on the tires on my TN65 and the fronts are worn but still work and are not bald. I should get another year or two out of them before I really need to replace them.

On my 1920 I just replaced the front tires last year but not from wear. The sidewalls deteriorated and the tires bascially started falling apart. But it is from 1992 so they were 17 years old with over 1200 hours on them. The new tires seem to be wearing fast but I have noticed new tires always seem to wear fast at first. I don't know if its just an illusion or what but it levels off and they will last a while.

that was from my camera...

lots of tight turns, lots of gravel, some pavement.. some dirt, almost no grass....

Everything around home is steep.... I was worried about traction...

Opps, sorry, maybe clean the lens!

At least 50% of my time is on grass, so I am getting good wear on 3 rib fronts at 500 hours on the 8N. The contact patch is very small on the front R1's, and with lots of tight turns? Dont have enough time on the L3940 to make opinion, but it has R3's with lots of camber. Philip.

I'm off to the farm for two weeks on Saturday. I'll post pics on my return. I should have pointed out that my tractor is 2WD, and I use it mainly for bush-hogging.

Steve

I found this picture of my best friend, Toby, that also shows the tires of my tractor. I'm "guess-timating" that the tractor had about 230 hours at that time. It's not a very good picture of the tires (or Toby for that matter), but the tires don't show that much wear IMO. I expect that I will have to replace the tires due to dry rot rather than tread wear if my usage pattern continues.

Tire life!:)

The thread on all of them will wear out unless they spend their life sitting in the barn.

How fast that happens depends on the type of tire, type of rubber, designated use and actual use and of course the operator. Throw all those into the mix and its really hard to tell what is normal.:D

Cripes Radar Tech, what kind of deep mud are you running on to need that much lug on the front? On my yard they'd leave cleat marks in the dirt and slip on anything steep - even on concrete. Plus they are less stable on side hills. On mine I pitched the paddle Ag tires and went to R4s on some and turf tires on the others. Much better.

Scotty,
I am on the side of a mountain and it is rather steep... The big thing for me is the snows.. Last year we got 54"!!!!

Not all at once thankfully , as a foot is a challenge for the road crews....

I might look at the cost and go from there if I feel I should be ready........

Got just over 600 hours on my original rear turfs. I did replace the fronts, they weren't worn the sidewalls were cracked up pretty bad.

Radar...What do your rears look like? Should be pretty good. You have some good wear on the fronts, but it looks like you still have a ways to go on them. I think you need to keep the tractor in the barn more to keep them from wearing...

I just replaced the Ag's on my 98 Case CX80 for the second time last year. I could have gone a little longer, but I had some bad damage on a couple and couldn't get Goodyear replacements. I use to run it between farms several times a year.
