That kid who jumped his Dads RTV is most likely going to get a sore backside if his dad sees that video:rolleyes:

Most of those videos you posted appear to be RTV owners showing off their machines and while they are happy and are having fun showing them off it wasn't what Skip was looking for. He has been trying to find videos of RTV's in deep mud (that guy going thru that little water swale didn't even get the rims wet:( ) or climbing rocks. Basically, put it in areas where it really test the machines besides driving around a yard or up and down a driveway showing off the hydraulic dump box.

I did like the video of the snow plow setup. I don't need it but after watching that video I want it:cool:

Thanks for posting the videos though, if I get time later I will start searching for videos of the RTV in deep mud and other areas that will test all of these machines.

I still would love to have a UTV demo here where I could build up a nice course to test climbing, pulling, handling, suspension and have a mud pit (the mud pit won't take much to make here:rolleyes: ) and a few other things that matter to UTV owners. Then make the demo a TBN exclusive where only TBN members are allowed to visit (and a few of my neighbors who are my friends).

I didn't even notice the wheels until you mentioned it. And is that a truck or a car? Either way it is interesting. I wonder if it has two motors or how it would work? How would it steer? You would have to have some way to lock the wheels straight so that it doesn't dog track unless it becomes rear wheel steer when you drive "backwards". It is an interesting project:)

My tractor is a lot more *fun* than my RTV. The RTV carries stuff around and lets me do the work. The tractor carries me around and it does the work!

My neighbor's Ranger can probably go more places than my RTV. All wheel drive on the RTV and more ground clearance would be nice. I can get the thing stuck...mostly on uneven, soft, steep ground.

The tractor and the RTV are on a par with where they can go with the edge to the tractor. The tractor has a lot more ground clearance and can make a road when necessary.

The RTV is better for picking vegetables and visiting neighbors.

The HST is invaluable for going down steep hills.

Reverse is easy on the tractor as you only have to rock the foot pedal...good for tricky areas. You have to stop and throw the lever with the RTV...a bit inconveniant if in a precarious situation.

The RTV and the Ranger are both better on the roads. My neighbor with the Ranger stopped going *off road* on my property after putting a root through his gas tank.

Hmmm...which one will I have fun with today?? Probaly the tractor as I need to move a lot of dirt. The wife says I am not aloud to put dirt in the cute little RTV!

I was noticing on the one video where they took the RTV into the water puddle that when the guy was switching from reverse to forward the RTV was making a lot of noise and had a sound almost like he was forcing it to switch gears. It didn't sound good what ever it was but it caught my attention.

Was this a result from not being completely stopped or something or what is the problem?

The RTV in the Jump video has the orange rims and tires off the BX tractors and the Howards Kubota has orange rims, I can't see the tires enough to tell, but I would bet that they are running the BX tires and wheels also, they are 26X12X12 and have the same bolt pattern as the RTV.

Actually I think that sound was all those empty Tall Boys rattleing around in the bed!:D :D

So it is only 3 years old roughly. Then except for its name and motor it still hasn't proven its durability and longevity yet. I have no problems with owner loyalty but it is nice to know the facts.

A spinning wheel does have torque otherwise it would not spin and the other non spinning wheel has the same torque but it can not spin because the front differ is not locked.
The link you sent demonstrated my point exactly. I'm not sure what your point is.
A non spinning wheel cannot produce torque. How can it? It's not moving.
