I was noticing on the one video where they took the RTV into the water puddle that when the guy was switching from reverse to forward the RTV was making a lot of noise and had a sound almost like he was forcing it to switch gears. It didn't sound good what ever it was but it caught my attention.

Was this a result from not being completely stopped or something or what is the problem?

If I recall correctly, some of the earlier RTVs had an issue with shifting. I noticed the same thing you did when watching that video. I think the issue had to do with the transmission building up pressure which, in turn, could prevent you from shifting. Kubota remedied this by adding a pressure release knob. Either that is an earlier model in the video or they didn't know the knob was there. :p

From some of the post I read that addressed that pressure relief knob it helped some but not completely. I had forgot about that issue so I wonder if someone who had that problem knows if it is the problem or if it is just normal:confused:

The only product I am really loyal to is Ford trucks and that is for two reasons, I get the family discount and I have been raised around them all my life. I have had as good a luck if not better then my friends and their GM's and Dodge's also.

just two quick hi-jack points here, rob --

-- my dad worked for GM for 40 years, gets the "GM discount", made ONE mistake upon retirement buying a Buick, and he now has a Lexus and is glee-fully happy.

Also, with a Tundra in your equation, your world would have a whole different level of comparison. I presently drive a Toyota Landcruiser with 245K that is a 1987 -- no babying, it's just a great truck -- and I get the GM discount, too -- but won't go near it --

-- Toyota quality is well worth the price -- :D

I agree but I wasn't going to start a domestic vs import battle. Although most toyota's are actually made in the US. They are such nice cars to drive and own.

Robert, the sound being heard could of been several things, I know, it my RTV is not completely stopped, and you get into to big of a hurry, you can grind them, or if you happen to barly touch the accellerator and try to put it in gear, you can scratch the gears, but both ways, is human error, not the machine. For one doesn't even have to use his pressure relief unless he has the machine in a bind..... I've only used my release maybe once, and that's when the RTV had a trailer with five full barrel full of corn, down twisted in a ditch, and decided to back up and go another way. And only then, did I have a little trouble getting it out of gear, but once the button was pulled and released, it popped right out, and right into the other gear with no problem ...
but anyone could expect that with any machine with that kind of bind on their machine ~~

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
