How Long Have You Been A TBN Member?

I was a little surprised to see this thread since the join date is posted below each member's username. However, that join date really doesn't tell "the rest of the story," as Paul Harvey would have said. When I first joined, I had just purchased my New Holland tractor. I had been using TBN for research about John Deere, Kubota, and New Hollands for several months before joining. I think posts by Bird and John Miller III were the most common in those days. I was fascinated with all the diagrams of JD tractors that John could produce.

I sometimes wonder how many posts and how much information I missed by being away from TBN from 2006 thru 2010, and I assumed that if you absented yourself from the site for long enough you would have to start from scratch again. When I returned in late 2010, I expected to have to start anew, but was pleasantly surprised..too bad all the problems I experienced with logging in during the change to the new format discouraged me.

I tell you, NOTHING worked for me back then.

Aug 2001, puts me in the 10yr club!

I find when work gets busy I can't find the
time to visit as much,
but, during slower times I can get on a few
times a day.

an incredible wealth of knowledge here, everything
from relationships to water wells and even some good
tractor info here once in a while... ;)

I think TBN was the second one for me. First was HBD, Homebrew Digest. HDD though, was before GUI's; it was an email digest. Actually, I may have been to HBD ans rec.scuba before TBN...

TBN was probably the first website, considering HBC and rec.scuba were pre website.

That is an interesting thought. I think TBN was the second website I joined. The first was photo website that has gotten huge. At least these are the only sites I still visit from last century. :D

I joined in Oct 2002, so I am a relative newby.

Frank F15 was the 1st to kindly reply to my post. I sure miss him. RIP.

I miss CowboyDoc and many others too. Hope they are doing alright and come back and visit someday.

I got in back in late 1998 or early 1999 before I bought my Kubota B2710 in May of 1999. Still have it.

Use to read post for years before actually joining. Think I decided to join when the "warden" stop talking to me and feeding me for a long spell !

I have been a member since Feb. 2005. 7 years next month plus the 2 years I was checking in as a guest since 2003. Wow, how time flies.

I used to read just about every post when I joined. Now I check in several times a day but have to select which threads to read. I just don't have the time to read several hundred posts every day. If I did I would be on here all day and no work would be done. Just since I checked in last night there has been 280 posts. Usually its over 300.

The site is now pushing toward 3,000,000 posts. It seems like yesterday (October 2006) they were closing in on 1,000,000 and sent us those nice TBN bumper stickers.

I have used many good ideas brought up here, made and modified my own attachments, posted a few of my projects. There is such a wealth of knowledge here. I am grateful the owners of the site started it.

I knock on the door 1999 and shortly afterwards TBN was moving into there new home...I don't believe there were more than 300 of us when porch light was turn on.

Took little time from TBN..health,cross country riding, health, more cross country riding...Nova S. still on the list Egon. ;)

Over the years learn alot and I thank you all,but most interesting are people personality around the world.

Than there's the TBN tractor book..whew..still good as the day put on line.

Guess the oddest subject of all was should TBN have Spell Check...won't go into details but grins were wide. :)

Frost,TX has some hot summer ;)Plowing driveway trying to miss the candy canes T.Toes,Lower roll bar Boondax..on and on. ;)

Wishing TBN many..many trips around the sun.
