how long is fair

My dealer is picking up my 4100 this week to install a new mower deck, power beyond on the rear and to make some repairs (2.6 hr on unit) I have been waiting for this mower for about 2 month. They want to keep the tractor for a week or more to mount the mower deck. If this estimate is based the same way thier past estimates have been then I may not see the thing back for a month. What should be a fair amount of time? TIA.

I must be a real hard case because if the dealer has been stalling you for 2 months for a job that should take well less that a day, I would be very upset. I would suggest that he pick up the tractor in the morning and return it in the afternoon. At the very most, return it the following day. This is assuming that the entire dealership (sales, assembly, parts and service) is more than a one man operation!

When my new 4300 came in to the dealer they had to install the FEL, backhoe, mower deck, power beyond kit, 3rd SCV, auxiliary lights, and light brush guards. I took them about 4 or 5 business days for the whole thing. That was back in April though, so they probably were not as busy as they are at this time of year. Looking at the mower deck and power beyond hookup on mine, I would estimate a good mechanic could hook everything up in a solid day. I don't know if it is more difficult to do those things on a 4100 or not. Good Luck.

Well they picked it up on Friday and delivered it back Wed. I was suprised. They didn't finish all the work though. I have to give then a call again to see why.
