How many extra Hydraulic Remotes do I need?

/ How many extra Hydraulic Remotes do I need? #21
My tractor had 2 sets of remotes on it from the factory. I had my dealer put three on and work it into the initial deal. That's easier to do than have it done later. That's something you could do. I also had several other goodies done that way like a 3rd function loader valve for a grapple. What I did was have him deliver the tractor as configured. Then when the parts came in he picked it up, installed them, and then delivered it again. That's something you could think about doing.

Four sounds like a good number.
Two for T'nT, one for angling a blade or rake, one for (don't know, but you'll want/need at least one more than you have known plans for).
Maybe 4+1 ?
Plus a Power beyond off the loader's valve block, for grapple or whatever Skid Steer attachments you plan to rent or own.

BTW, Prince has some good info - most of what has been posted here over the years. Plus tables of exerted force as function of pressure and cylinder diameter, also speed as function of flow rate and cylinder diameter. They list diameter down to about 3/4 inch, so subtracting rod diameter to get retraction force and speed is simplified.

All on the REAR???

What are you running?

I would have to assume your FEL remotes are NOT mid-mount...

This is how my tractor is currently configured. I have the standard FEL joy stick control with a Mahindra electric divert-er valve for my grapple. The control is a button that is in the joystick knob. The 3 rear remotes are Mahindra factory remotes. Tractor came with 2 and I added the 3rd. These currently are used for my top & tilt and a spare for ? The reason for adding 2 more at the rear is to have 5 to be able to operate "tnt" and 3 hydraulics on a rear blade. 1 for angling, 1 for tilting, and 1 for offset grading. Thus the need for 5 rear remotes.

Actually Catman1 in Colorado has 6 for the rear of his M8540 Kubota. He has "tnt" and a Land Pride rear blade that has 4 hydraulic functions on it. Catman's 4th function that I won't have is that he has hydraulic operated gauge wheels.

So there are reasons to have all the remotes, I guess maybe just being lazy, but as you get older, it isn't as much fun getting on and off the tractor every few minutes.;)

I can't, for the life of me, think of what you could use 6 rear remotes for. Not that I'm saying theres anything wrong with having 6 remotes. I just don't know what you could use them for. I would love to know though. The more hydraulics I can hook up and play with the better. I can see using 4 remotes in the case of a Top'n'tilt with a box blade using hydraulic scarifiers. That is, if you have hydraulics for both lift arms and for the toplink for the TNT.

"tnt"= 2 remotes
total hydraulic controlled rear blade = 3,
add hydraulic operated gauge wheels = 1

Thus the need for 6 rear remotes. Me, I will only need 5, I'm not going to have any gauge wheels. And as you know Chuck, you have to have the divert-er valve for the grapple.

When you get your PD35 post hole digger, be sure to have your tilt cylinder of the "tnt". It sure makes it easier to dig plum holes.

So you have the tilt and tip from the TNT
And then you have the angling and tilting on the blade itself
Out of curiosity...isn't that replication of functionality?....

It is, but with the tilt of both, the blade can be tilted at a 45 degree angle and will make for cutting a ditch with equal sides.:D Not really needed, but nice to be able to do.

Chuck, do you remember back when you thought that the 2 remotes that were already on your Kubota were going to be enough? I warned you about getting the 3rd, now where are you at, you want 3 more. :D You know that before you can get any more, you have to get an implement that doesn't have any hydraulics and you have to get on and off the tractor a few 1000 times so that you can really appreciate just moving that little lever and that does the work for you.
