water pump at about 40 hours (the factory installed the pump with a tiny wrinkle in the gasket to block seal, so it seaped coolant to the outside). Perkins mechanic replaced with new pump on site. Been good ever since. Luckily a Perkins Distributor is within an hour and a half of me (close in these parts). He had a pump in stock.
blew O-ring in loader control valve top bolt last summer. Replaced myself. Factory pinched the original. It happened again about a week ago. I believe the seat in the valve is not machined quite deep enough, or the bolt is slightly long, as the upper O-ring is not fully captured by the groove in the bolt and has to hold pressure, rather than just seal. If it happens again, I will modify the bolt on a lathe. Easy job to replace, but a PITA to clean up the mess. And it shouldn't be happening. The bolt was barely more than hand tight on first blowout. I used a cheap oring I had on hand the first time and got some OEM ones mailed in preparation for the second time. So now I need more again for spares until I fix this issue for good. My spic and span tractor is holding dirt now.
I replaced tie rods (ball joints) just the other day due to the originals having lots of slop already. New parts are a different part # (upgraded). Hopefully they hold up. Known issue. Easy job anyways if I have to keep replacing them on warranty. I had to wait a couple of weeks for parts, as there were none in North America at the time. They should be stocked-up now. I was told that there was no chassis paint available to paint my hammer marks on the tie-rod end sockets. I guess the Duetz blue will work for now. I'll get some Kioti blue at the Kubota dealer I guess.
This tractor is very well thought out and servicing is a breeze.
Nearest dealer is 6hrs away, so I have to do things myself. Hopefully nothing major goes wrong. There's a new dealer coming soon about 1 1/2 hours away, so that is good.
Otherwise I am thoroughly enjoying this tractor. For the money it can't be beat, IMO. Other than the water pump, the issues have been minor so far. And the water pump was painless for me as I didn't have to do the mechanicin'. And BTW, that is also a fairly easy job. Gotta like when things are put together with room to work.
