The guage is not a linear function of how much fuel has been used or how much is left.

Your fuel consumption will depend mostly on the throttle setting and how hard you are working the tractor.

I have a L3130.

Figure on 10-12 hrs per run time per tankful of fuel.

An average is plus or minus about 1 gal. per hour of use depending on throttle position and load. Your 10 gal. tank should get you about 10 hours.

Well I got 3.8hrs and the fuel gauge still reads full. I opened the cap and it's full. I can only think maybe the dealer filled it after 1 or 2 hrs on it, before delivery Or I am getting great fuel econmy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I have put fuel in my new L2800 2 times, the first time was at 7+ hours when the guage got to "E" . The guage never moved for a long time, I thought it was broken, then it started dropping fast. I added 5 gal each time and it brought the level back to full. I'm guessing about 1.25 hours to a gal. and that aint bad.

I have an L3000DT and I thought the fuel gauge was not working when I first got my tractor. When it is full to the top it takes a while for the gauge to move off the full mark.

Once the gauge gets pass the 3/4 full mark it decends at a much more rapid rate. As far as hours per gallon it is really hard to say, but I'd guess it's close to 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours per gallon for use a little under PTO rpm speed.

I don't think I have yet to burn through a half of tank of fuel in what I consider a full days work, but then I don't do any mowing or brush hog work.

I get anywhere from 10-15 hours, most times its 12-14.

Depending on load I agree with others at 10-15 hrs. I can bushhog 2-3 hrs, tall thick grass and still have 3/4 of a tank.
I never let mine get below 1/2 a tank and almost always top it off to prevent condensation in the tank. Don't know if condensation would be a problem or not but it is no trouble to fill it up before each job.
