She was buit in 1984, right after IH sold the line to CCC/MTD. All the diesel cubs came after the spin off. The 782d was only produced for 2 years, then it was changed back to yellow and white colors only and a different model number (1512) They also made a yellow and white 882 at the same time as the 782d. The red IH branded diesel cub was sold thru the IH ad dealers, and the yellow and white CCC branded diesel cub was sold thru the Cub Cadet stand alone dealers, or what they called OPP (Outdoor Power Products). They are some of the most desired cubs, from both a collectors and operators stand point. Low production numbers give it excellent collectablity, and very good power and fuel effenciey make it one of the cheapest cubs to run. My wife and I are looking for a second diesel cub right now. I thot the 1200 hours I've put on my BX23 since getting it new 11/2004 was a lot of hours.

We have 39.1 hrs on the M9540 now. Everything is smooth as silk. does anything I want it to without complaining any. Our neighbor with the M7040 has 62.4hrs on his. We just finished hay for the spring. First year with 0 problems, usually I have to work on something. (ours or his) Not this year, smooth sailing.

5 yr old BX23 with 950 hrs of work bought new. Blown tranny just out of warranty that Bota replace free, 1 rear tire, 1 front has a couple of side wall bubbles so just a matter of time before it goes. Both front end knuckles cracked and replace no charge, air cleaner bracket replaced and of course the rear lenses. Hard hours trenching, hauling, mowing, and tiling with my little mule. I have done the normal service. Still on the original mower blades and belt, but looks like after this season will have to replace both. but hey things cant last for ever.

Rolled over to 900 hours using the grapple I built last week - The wife is very pleased that the grapple is paying for it's self - as $160.00 of junk iron was loaded and sold.

The cylinders are leaking and need replacing...both other than that the 4310 starts and does what I want.

Just need to figure out how to get a L5740 HST...
