She was buit in 1984, right after IH sold the line to CCC/MTD. All the diesel cubs came after the spin off. The 782d was only produced for 2 years, then it was changed back to yellow and white colors only and a different model number (1512) They also made a yellow and white 882 at the same time as the 782d. The red IH branded diesel cub was sold thru the IH ad dealers, and the yellow and white CCC branded diesel cub was sold thru the Cub Cadet stand alone dealers, or what they called OPP (Outdoor Power Products). They are some of the most desired cubs, from both a collectors and operators stand point. Low production numbers give it excellent collectablity, and very good power and fuel effenciey make it one of the cheapest cubs to run. My wife and I are looking for a second diesel cub right now.
