I polished them with Brasso but they are some weird alloy that never really got shiny.

Sawzall is your buddy. Anything that won't fit in the trash bin gets halved with the sawzall and halved again until it fits in a trash bag, and in the bin it goes.

There have been a couple of those up here. In one case the guy cut up his girlfriend's remains and buried them in a dirt pile on the side of the road. I drive past that spot regularly.
In another case the guy cut his GF up, burned her body in his wood boiler than dumped the ashes off a bridge.
We manage the land that bridge is on, everytime I drive across it I think of her.

Not that it's right but I can see having a fit of passion. OTOH you have to be a pretty sick ******* to cut up the bosy of a woman who you once loved and made love to.

I do, but the previous owners were my father, my grandfather and my great grandfather. So I can't really complain.

We frequently do "shallow removal" on signal pole foundations. Meaning, 5 ft diameter, concrete shaft, often going down 18+ feet; and we chip it down 48" and cover it up. I dont really "like" it, because my worry has always been, your doing an HDD through the area, and there is no way to know there is 18 cubic yards of reinforced concrete right there... But, it's not my call, and its a heck of a lot cheaper than removing the entire thing.

Anyone see the ship found under a road intersection in down town St Augustine? I wasn't part of that, but I have worked within maybe 500 ft of that intersection. "Ship" might be a generous way of saying it, its was like a 24 ft wooden boat

So, topic drift... but since we mentioned boats...

Son goes to his buddies house last night. Now, important to this, he has a dead nissian, and an allegedly running Chevy 1500HD, no tags, sitting in my yard, and hes been driving my truck to work and school, while he is getting one of them fixed. Now, its been like 15 months, and every time I check, it seems more parts of off these two trucks...

So, last night, I go out to the work truck to grab a note book; and hes got an F'ing inboard ski boat hitched to my truck. I ask what's with the dam boat. He says his buddies dad got a new one, and mentioned getting rid of this one. So, son says he gave a "couple hundred" dollars for it. I ask, you get a title, and what's wrong with it? "yeah, got a title, bill of sale for trailer, and it should run". Needless to say, im pretty irritated, cause you dont even have running transportation, and you bring home a trash boat, and worse, you pay money for a trash boat. But, sounds like a tomorrow problem.

This morning, I take a 30 second glance at it, and yep, engine is apart laying in the floor of the boat... And this aint getting dumped in my woods or yard. So... im guessing this one, the boat gets dumped down a dirt road, and maybe the trailer gets posted on FB Market......

Edit: hes almost 20, and still living at home while he goes to school, and is working part time. With that, hes bought and drug home a Volkswagen Passat that ended up in parts, a Nissian Hardbody, thats in parts....

Sounds like it's time for Dad to put his foot down...
