Before the birth of my son about 3.5 years ago I kept stuff absolutely mint, I would have pulled each bolt out of the tires on my B3030 and waxed up the bearing surfaces to be sure rust would not form between the bolt and rim, and you know what, I would lose sleep at night thinking about rust forming there.
Now with a 3 yo and a 9 month old I have really changed considerably. A good example is this past weekend, I was on my quad with my 3 year old poking around next to the house. We have a bunch of dead fall cedar trees, well, one came in like a spear between the front tire and poked through the fender guard THROUGH the belt guard and lodged itself into the belt drive.
Whoa . . I said, that looks pretty bad, I backed off this thing, took a screw driver to the belt guard to pry it out because it was catching the belt, put some painters tape over the hole and off we went. Believe me, a sea change in my attitude. It doesn't mean that I beat my stuff but it means it gets good, reasonable maintenance and my OCD is more in check.
With that said, maybe I will take the time this weekend to wax my rims before the snow starts.
