It appears that in general anything > 15% is great

so 17.87% is about the best i can expect? hope i can get the dealer i want to deal with to come down (i think they might). if not anyone know if i would need to pay MA sales tax if it is deliverd to NH?

Obviously I can not say if that is the best deal you can get. I can only offer a gage to go by. But it sounds good especially in the North East. I doubt if you would be paying sales tax to another state. Very unusual. But I am not familiar with the Tax laws there. I am sure someone will jump in with that info. But the selling dealer would know and may use that as a bargaining chip. Now it may be likely that your home state would like you to pay sales tax on it if they become aware you bought it somehow

i dont expect you to tell me just trying to get a feel for what i should be expecting in further negotiations. there is no sales tax in NH. but MA does like to collect it's taxes. such as on the MA tax form there is a box to check if you have made any large ($) out of state purchas they want to collect the tax on it.

If you take delivery in New Hampshire the out of state dealer should not be charging you any local (to him) sales tax. All dealers know this and will use it to their advantage to get your sale.

I just bought a Kory wagon from a dealer in Vermont. He is delivering it to New Hampshire. I am paying no Vermont sales tax.

Shoot, we drive further to go to town than most of you guys up there do to go to the next state! I am sure the states know this, and boy, they like revenue!!!

Well, I would eliminate that dealer from my choices then. I wouldn't doubt that he is pocketing the sales tax for himself especially if he is the one giving the best discount. I could be wrong but I don't think so. The only advantage Mass businesses have to attract NH buyers is to have lower prices and no sales tax if delivered to NH. I recently purchased some bedroom furniture from a store in Mass and had it delivered to NH and paid no Mass sales tax. Now, if you take delivery in Mass then you must pay.
