Oil & Fuel How much $$ for diesel where you live?

Diesel here was 93.9c\l as of tonight on my way home.
I've added a second tank to my 1991 Sonoma that I put a Isuzu diesel into, and now I burn used hydraulic transmission fluid (from tractors, as I work at a MF/Kioti dealer), used cooking oil, used ATF, or anything similar I can burn, after it's filtered first of course. I filled my diesel tank a week and a half ago, and it's still reading full, after 710 kms. Start up on diesel, switch over almost right away (it's still summer, after all), and switch back to diesel 5 minutes before I reach home. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif to high fuel prices. Maybe not the perfect answer, but it gets my butt to work and back, I get rid of waste oil, and I don't have to feed the "Oil Machine" and the government anymore of my money than I absolutely have to.

Everything uses energy. Eventually this has to lead to higher inflation then we've been used to. I would think.

The lowest I've seen here in Baltimore County, Maryland is $2.39... and up. Heating oil will likely be about the same! Ouch.

For the life of me I cannot see the purpose of this thread. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The price you pay today will be different next week. Even if some places are super cheap, unless I live there, I will not see any benefit from it.

It's like having a thread, "What's the temperature at your place today?"

Filled up my 5 gallon diesel jug last night and it was $2.35 in Nashua NH. Frankly I hope fuel prices go up further - as some of the previous posters pointed out in 1979 it was $80.00 a barrel in todays prices. I remember the 80's when people weren't commuting to work in Ford Excursions and Chevy Suburbans. In my opinion our current foreign involvements are in large part due to our dependence on petroleum. As a number of previous posters have pointed out they traded in larger vehicles because of the rising fuel costs. In my opinion the rise in fuel prices will make alternative sources more feasible and will make people start purchasing vehicles more intelligently. It will eventually also stop the profligate building of 4000 square foot mcmansion houses that cost a fortune to heat and cool. I drive a small tractor - I drive a small car - and my house has been designed with energy efficiency in mind. I hope the prices keep going up <end of rant>.

there are also many elderly and others on fixed incomes that can't get simple heating oil and this is with tiny and pretty efficient places they live in.. Not an attitude that I would like to run into. Get rid of stock speculation bidding and we wouldn't be paying these exhorbatant pricing while the oil companies are showing millions upon millions in profit each month...

Station out by the Interstate:

Regular $2.29
Diesel $2.39

Note: Normally the gas price in town is the lower than the Interstate stations. Dunno why that's not the case today.
