Oil & Fuel How much $$ for diesel where you live?

I agree but there is no way that after the lengthy war in Irag or any war anywhere that prices will come down. Oil companies do not have a “give back” to the community days. Yes, fuel is cheap compared to Europe but we are not comparing just fuel and tax either. They have more taxes integral to their price. Higher price but you are getting more in the end.

So for me the fuel price alone pays 50% of my Lexus payment. Never mind the quality of ride, maintenance, usability etc. If you need really need a diesel truck then that is great. For the amount I used the cost savings and benefits where not there on a truck, let alone a diesel. For a savings of over $100 per month, I will take it.

Based on what I read, we can expect only higher fuel prices... since China (and India) will be buying ever increasing amounts of crude oil. And, if they start buying our corporations with all of the balance of trade dollars they're acquiring, instead of just investing in US bonds at 4 %, we'll be in for a rough ride.

Truck diesel is a bit overpriced, I think, since demand is high and the oil companies are making money. Last time I looked, the bulk market cost of diesel was $1.50 something.

I buy at Safeway. Using my card, I get a 3 cent/gal. discount, or if i just made a big grocery purchase, they make it 6 cents. Price without discount had been steady at $2.49 for several months. It drifted down into the mid $2.30s for a couple of weeks then suddenly spiked into the $2.80+ range. I saw this article in the Sacramento Bee (Sorry if you can't download it without registering) explaining how a fire at one refinery had sent a price shock into three states.

I guess if this keeps going on we can all use our tractors to start growin' peanuts and squeeze our own veggie oil fuel more cheaply than sending our cash off to not-so-friendly foreign countries.

We are paying around 2.25 per gallon and premium gas is only 2.10????

Now it's really getting scarey. I just went by a Union 76 where it was $2.999, then a Chevron where it was $3.099. This is not good. Here in CA we went through this "energy crisis" business with one power outage after another 4 or 5 years ago, then found out the whole thing was rigged by Enron. This just seems unrealistic.

I know in Southwich and Westfield (near CT line) it was 2.42..today it is $2.57.

I drive past the airport everyday in CT and I think it is the same price as you.$2.69

It's a little high out here in Southern Calif, Antelope Valley area where yesterday it's going for $2.83 at the lowest, $2.97 at the highest I saw while driving around town.

I just paid $1.019 per litre at a service station in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. That's about $3.85 or so per US gallon. Of course, around here a big part of that is taxes. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Between 2.339 and 2.459. Someplaces are as high as 2.659.

Prices were heading down in the last couple of weeks, some stations have gone up around .05 in the last few days.

Gasoline is around 2.299/2.399/2.499 Reg/Mid/Premium. For some reason fuel prices really bug me when diesel is more than premium gasoline.
