First Aid Kit Items

There are lots of different first aid kits depending on your needs, such as a basic first aid kit, burn kits, trauma kit, bleeding kit.

Here are the absolute must have medical supplies for any first aid or Remote Medical Support kit that covers a wide range of needs would include:

Gloves/Eye Protection
CPR Pocket Mask
Tourniquet
Roll of Gauze
4×4 Gauze Pads
Medical Tape
Two Triangular Bandages
Sam Splint
Elastic Bandage
Trauma Shears
Ibuprofen/Aspirin
Box of Band-Aids
Antiseptic gel (replaces alcohol)
Clotting screens

But there are many places that sell them already prepared, and can get very elaborate and detailed .

The best first aid kit in the world is useless if you left it a mile away in your truck, or if you don't know how to use it. My employer recertifies us for First Aid and CPR every two years. Still, I hope that I never have to use it.

I’ve fortunately never had the opportunity to test my theory but I think a roll of duct tape would be a fantastic bleed stopper.

TRUE. Roll of Duct tape and some clean cloth in a zip lock bag. I have often used electrical tape and take out napkins. Wonder how many BILLIONS maybe trillions have been spent on first aid stuff that never got used. Whatever, as long as we just keep buying stuff. Oh and you got to love the people that think some kind of germicide or other cleanser is required for every little scratch. Ever heard of an immune system?

Electric tape and a piece of paper towel is a far better covering for a finger injury than a bandaid is.

I've used a strip of plastic surveyor's flagging and piece of paper towel many times.

I have multiple kits, all of which at minimum have a battle dressing, quick clot smaller gause pads, and a sharpie marker. Different ones get different things, the tractor one has more smaller band aid sized gauge pads and tape/vet wrap a saline flush and a 27 gauge needle (mostly used for splinter removal). My hunting/back country ones have roughly the same stuff, the truck one has big to small care needs.
I also have to pack in the supplies my son would need for his blood clotting disorder, I try to keep it as basic as I can.
I keep all of these kits in vac sealed bags, waterproof and compact that way.

The tourniquet is on my body, whether in the saddle, running a chainsaw, being on the tractor the tourniquet is on my belt. Alot of that other stuff you might be able to spend some time getting to, the t-quet you don't have time.
