How much is this scrape blade worth?

generally.. for a use dimplement.. unless it has collector value.. or is a plow set.. I like to pay no more than 50% of what a new similar one would cost.. unless it is particularly minty, or more or less unused.. then perhaps 80% is reasonable.

The distance is only a factor because I am in FL and the blade is in GA...I plan to use the blade about 40 miles from where it is at my place in GA (where my tractor is)...I am just not able to give first hand impressions...

As for tilting...it looks like it has it's own top link for tilting???

The tilting refers to being able to angle the blade off from horizontal. Not every blade can do this and it makes it a little more versatile and a little more expensive. Allows you to work on slopes and do light ditching. Mine tilts but I haven't used that feature all that much. Would I drive $1200 miles to buy this? I wouldn't drive that distance if they were going to give it to me for free. (That's close to $300 in gas + mileage on your vehicle before you pay a dollar for it). Just MHO

Here is a pic from a different angle...I assume the mounting is made to accommodate different hitches...?

The seller is asking $250 OBO....

I am waiting to hear back from the seller on the length and weight of the blade...I will have to ask about the cutting edge wear...

What attracts me to this implement is the bulk (apparent weight) of it...on the road that I maintain one of the cheap new ones would just bounce around...

considering the cost of steel these days (just the iron needed to fab up a decent 3 pt hitch mount is about $75) I am considering offering $200 (after I have my nephew check it out personally)

Would I drive $1200 miles to buy this?

again...sorry for the mis-understanding...both the blade and my property (and tractor) are only about 40 miles apart...but both are in GA....unfortunately I am in FL (for the winter) and am having to decide whether to buy this without beign able to examine it personally...

My nephew lives near-by and can look it over for me but he knows absolutely nothing about equipment...

From the looks of the front view picture the cutting edge looks in great shape and it does appear to also tilt which is a great feature. It isn't beat up or bent anywhere and a lil sandblasting and some paint and you'd have a great blade. That adjustable top link is another nice functionm being able to also tilt the blade slightly forward or backwards really makes a difference in how it cuts or just scrapes or gives a finished look. you'd actually have sideways tilt, left and right angle and forward/rearward tilt of cutting edge on it. Even though it would be manual it's still nice to have these features.

$200 would prob be fair for it if you picked it up on the way thru... offer that in cash and no sales tax?

Good luck

I would not offer more than $100 for that one.

I would say no more that 150. I just sold a 6 foot blade that offset, tilted and angled for 250.

How is going /pine It has been awhile.:D I am guessing that I have a real good idea were that blade might be located.;) Knowing the area I don't think it would be worth or bring in much over a 100 bucks absolutely 150 tops. It's worth about 125 IMO for the area.

From my neck of the woods, if you can get that for $200 you have made a good deal. It doesnt look to me like it tilts other than manually by hooking one side to a higer pin, but if you are only going to use it to maintain a road, it will work without tilt. Also doesnt swing or pivot at the 3 PH area which is nice feature, but again you can use it fine without that feature also. It looks like a well made blade as far as strength goes. The super light duty ones around Crosby go for 100-150 and I am talking about 200 pound weight class that run about $400-500 new.
The features on back blades start with el cheapo that only angle in horizontal plane (like this one) then they include a tilt feature that rolls the blade in a vertical plane. Lastly they have a swing feature that takes the whole assembly that is back of the 3PH and allows it to swing left or right. This puts the blade outside your wheel tracts or allows you to place it in the wheel tracts if you are digging a ditch and have it angled and tilted. So as you can see, if you want to dig a fairly large ditch with one, the swing feature is almost a necessity. Good for moving snow also as the blade can push the snow further than your wheels are located. The swing feature is also handy when you want to grade up to a ditch and dont want to put your tractor wheels that close. You can reach out a foot or so past your tractor with the blade.

/pine I bought a used lightweight for $25 and a good heavy gannon box blade for $200 (what a deal!). You are right about the lightweights bouncing and skipping especially if it is hard surfaced dirt etc. I would be in the $100-$150 range for that blade. You cant buy one that heavily built for triple that but it is all in your needs. Good luck.
