Which One do you want to know about?
We didn't get as much snow as they were calling for earlier this week, but that didn't keep Ted & Peanut from teaming up to test out a couple of our ETA scrape blades in a parking lot!

The blade that Peanut is using on the 1250 Massey is our ETA Deluxe Value Scrape Blade.

The blade that Ted is using on the CT122 Bobcat is a brand new blade that isn't on our website yet.

Both blades are made at our factory here in Newton, NC. Check out the action!

Looks like a half size HST is more efficient than the gear tractor.

The new 54'' blade will be great on SCUTs.

Looks to me like 1 driver is trying to go fast and the other isn't.
Nothing more.

It wouldnt be more efficient if there was more snowfall to make use of the larger/heavier machine.

Ted
What is the more efficient blade: the curved or the 2 bend as far as snow roll off is concerned? The blade I have now is a curved Woods unit with a 14" moldboard. With a 6-10" snowfall and a 30* angle set, snow comes up and over this blade all the time. I'm in the market for a new blade that will primarily be used for snow plowing. This will be put on a Mahindra 3016. Thanks

Lou

Curved is definatally better. Otherwise you would see a different design on snowplows.

Curves on a snow plow takes better advantage of this as snow plow height creates a stronger radius. On a scraper blade, I see curves that are real shallow so on one of these, I'm not so sure of the differences with only a 15" mold board.

I agree. The continuous bend on the blade that Ted was using is more efficient for rolling the dirt/snow/whatever.
It's hard to make a fair comparison based on the video because Ted was pretty much wide open and Peanut was needing some coffee I think.

Our Xtreme duty blades for 35-80hp have a continuous curve as well.

THere are alot of things that effect how snow rolls. Height, width, speed, snow type, etc.

Faster is gonna roll the snow better. Light fluffy snow will also roll better than a wet heavy snow. How tall the blade needs to be is all relative to its width as well.

My truck plow w/wings is 10'6" wide. And a height of ~28". Only time snow comes over the top is if I am pushing straight, or windrowing a row and it gets up around 2' deep already. then some will come over the top. IF using a 5 or 6' wide blade, it doesnt have to be as tall. Especially without wings. Just cannot contain enough snow to worry about it coming over the top.

I looked at this video again and no doubt the curved blade is rolling snow better. At slower speeds, I'm thinking the differential would not be as great. My desire was to get a blade for snow w/o having to go through the expense of a heavy duty one as I do no dirt work. At my travel speeds when plowing snow, (around 4mph) snow is coming over the top of my current blade which is a 6' one. I guess the unknown here is if the top bend in the 2 bend blade sufficient to mitigate over flow. Sadly in N.C., I doubt you'll be getting an 8-10" storm anytime soon. I cannot warrant an almost double expenditure of the heavy duty blade for snow work. Seems a hybrid Value Blade with the curved moldboard of the Extreme Blade could prove useful.

I agree. A lighter duty and cheaper but still rolled would be better than the two bends.

Used to be you never saw a blade with two bends. They were all rolled from light duty to heavy duty. I am guessing it is cheaper to break it in two places as opposed to running it through rollers a few times? I see the KK blades they also sell are no longer rolled like they used to be.

Allthough If I was in the market for a blade for snow only, I'd be shopping c-list. Other areas may be different, but around here, there is no shortage of lighter duty rolled blades for $100-$200

You read my mind LD (or I read yours). Just before I got on here, that is the exact thought I had. Worth a look I guess.

Rear scrape blades are pretty popular this week!
Here's a new review of our EA 6-Way Deluxe Scrape Blade.

"Excellent customer service. Just had 9" 0f snow & a chance to play. Blade works Great, Design & Adjustability well thought out, heavy built & anticipate to last through several generations. All of my future implements will come from Everything Attachments. I am glad I did not go a less expensive route. This equipment is worth the extra pennies."
