Ive never had an auger in problem either ... except from catching a root. Usually it just shaves down thru the soil, much like a wood bit. I usually dont clear the hole til the end either cuz the tailings aid down force. With the Mahindra tho I am seeing some bend in the PHD neck due to the hard pull needed to bring it out of the hole sometimes when it has penetrated quickly [almost augering in]. Im going to have to reinforce that neck before I break it!I have drilled hundreds of holes with my PHD and never ...ever gotten it stuck in a hole..All you do is when you want to remove it from the hole you have drilled is keep it turning and lift up on your 3pt lever but be careful since if you come up out of the ground with the auger spinning loose and wild it can go anywhere...keep in mind the hole you are drilling is all that keeps the auger under control, once you bring it up above the lip of the hole ...all bets are off and it will swing wildly so you have to be careful in raising it up as you put the power to it through the PTO..
