I have wondered about, saying screw looks and rhino lining bottom of quarter panels and wheel wells.
Not sure how it hold up for a truck used off road, but I had an Explorer that the bottom was all plastic. Smartest thing I have seen. For most people it is not going to get banged around. I suppose moisture could get behind it, and not be able to breath. It was 7 years old when I got rid of it, 136k miles, wanted something bigger, looked good.
