how much to tip?

I read the first few pages and I felt super cheap. I typically tip 10%, Its like a score card, get 90% on your score card you get 9% tip and so on. More if its great service.

In Canada our food price are more expensive, likely bc our wait staff are paid a minimum of $10/hr or more. 10-20% is expected. I'm not a high roller so I usually stay within the lower bracket but I don't expect the staff to bend over backwards either, just keep my drink topped up. When travelling in the US, I'll have to raise my tipping rate as I didn't know the staff was paid so little. I hope othe canadian do the same. Different system I guess. Again, when in Rome.......
When I lived in Fort MacMurray, Alberta Canada, wait staff was hard to keep due to cost of living there. Generally waiter's were paid $25 or more per hour and restaurants couldn't keep them. That plus tips still wasn't enough to live on and service in most restaurants was pretty poor if you went during normal meal time due to lack of enough servers.
Here I generally tip 15% if service is good or adequate.

Not the the OJ Brentwood. I'm in Northern California on the delta. Or as I say we live out here in the dirt. Or as my wife likes to say, we moved East until we could afford something.
